Pilot Training
About Custom Pilot Training
UND Aerospace partners with major airlines and organizations around the world to provide contracted
pilot training.
Our Fleet
UND Aerospace operates one of the largest, most advanced fleets of training aircraft
in the world. With over 120 aircraft system wide, UND trains more than 1000 pilots
each year.
UND's fleet consists Cessna, Piper, Bell and Schweizer aircraft. At Grand Forks International Airport,
UND operates over 130 aircraft. UND operates
the same types of aircraft at its satellite campuses in Phoenix, AZ, Spokane, WA,
and Crookston, MN.
UND also operates several other specialized aircraft including two ACA Super Decathlons,
a Piper Supercub, Beechcraft Baron, Cessna 182 Amphibian, and Piper Cheyenne.
Helicopters
Included in UND's fleet are 12 helicopters. Helicopter training is available to students
for college credit. Flight training in helicopters can replace the airplane course
requirements in each of the four-year degree options available at UND.
UND also supports a Helicopter Flight Training Program in conjunction with the Army
ROTC. This program can provide financial aid while you are in flight train with
the Army ROTC. More information about the UND's HFTP can be found on the
ROTC website.
UND conducts contract flight training in helicopters as well (not a part of a college
degree program). This training is available depending on the need of the individual
or agency in an on-demand basis.
UND Aerospace Spectrum Curriculum
Developed through a consortium of industry experts and airlines, the UND Aerospace
Spectrum Curriculum has been used to train thousands of domestic and international
pilots for over 20 years.
