ICAO Air Traffic Control Training Solutions
Classroom Curriculum
The UND Aerospace Air Traffic Control Training program is a highly comprehensive three-module system based on regulations outlined by ICAO and your country/organization. The three modules are:
- The Basic ATC module (BATC)
- Advanced Tower Approach Control Module (TWR & APP)
- Advanced Terminal Radar Tower/En Route Radar/Non-Radar (APP/ACC)
The training program fully integrates theory instruction with practical simulation, allowing the students to apply the knowledge gained. Students will be able to handle the specified volume of traffic in all sector types applicable to the course modules. The number of aircraft movements, level of separation, and number of aircraft being controlled are at parameters that exceed ICAO standards.
Upon completion of the program, the students will be able to effectively operate in a multi-sector environment.
Radar Lab
The training curriculums of each of the training modules are coalesced to provide an environment of increasingly advanced complexity in air traffic control training. These curriculums combined with a 32 position state-of-the-art radar simulation system ensure that the students receive training that exceeds ICAO requirements.
3D Tower Lab
Our 360 degree and 225 degree control tower/radar simulators provide a 3D visual simulation to ensure students experience a teamwork environment while safely controlling air traffic from the en route environment thru the approach control to a landing with the control tower. These scenarios utilize both voice recognition technology and live pseudo-pilot training exercises.
